1 Carnaby Christmas Installation Switch On, Soho
***Postponed to Tuesday, November 8 due to rail strikes*** Always one of the brightest festive displays, Carnaby's Christmas light installation picks out some of the most-loved pieces from previous displays from the last 25 years, and puts them together in a rather epic installation. For the switch on, the area's food and drink and retail traders are putting on offers and in-store happenings, and there's live music as well.

2 Bonfire Night Firework Displays, around London
Catch one of the brilliant displays lighting up London in honour of Guy Fawkes' bungled attempt to take down parliament. Many Bonfire Nights will have an earlier and a later display as well as food and drinks, fair rides, and frivolity before and after the main event. 3 Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, Woolwich Works
Not just an excuse to catch the Elizabeth Line, the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair is a huge curation of collectable prints from some of the world's leading artists and galleries. Look out for prints by David Shrigley, Grayson Perry, Tracey Emin and Yinka Shonibare.

4 David McKee Retrospective at Horniman Museum, Forest Hill
Delight in this wonderful exhibition that celebrates Elmer the Elephant author and illustration David Mckee. Created with children under the age of 6 in mind, Elmer and Friends: The Colourful World of David McKee features original artwork and illustrations and delves into Elmer's world as well as other Not Now Bernard, Mr Benn and a storyboard of King Rollo.

5 KOYN, Mayfair
Recently opened, KOYN is the latest luxuriant venture by Samyukta Nair, the restaurateur behind Michelin-starred Jamavar, MiMi Mei Fair and Bombay Bustle, with ex-Nobu chef Rhys Cattermoul overseeing the restaurant's three kitchens. The venue is an exquisite, fine-dining take on an izakaya that serves flawless, delicate dishes in a considered interior based in the duality of Mount Fuji. Treat yourself.
