Documentary MOONAGE DAYDREAM opens in IMAX ahead of its general release...
Lead Image: Universal Pictures
No one can argue David Bowie is a legend, but soon it will be carved in stone.
Universal Pictures and Warner Music will honour the cultural icon - who would have turned 75 this year - with a stone on the Music Walk of Fame in Camden, a trail which celebrates some of the world's most important artists and trailblazers.
The stone's unveiling takes place on September 15, ahead of the release of MOONAGE DAYDREAM the day after.
The documentary, by Brett Morgen (The Kids Stays in the Picture, Cobain: Montage of Heck) is described as an "experiential, cinematic odyssey" which explores Bowie's "creative, musical an spiritual journey".
The first film to be officially approved by Bowie's estate, it includes never seen before footage, performance and music, and is guided by Bowie's narration.
The film is first released in the UK in IMAX on September 16, before hitting cinemas from September 23.
The Starman's stone will be laid opposite Camden Town Tube Station and will join the likes of The Who, Soul2Soul, Madness and Amy Winehouse.
MOONAGE DAYDREAM opens at IMAX on September 16, with a general release on September 23.
