The future of isolation entertainment is here! And boy are we regretting that carbon-neutral bikes-only lifestyle we adopted now…

Hot on the heels of announcements of @TheDriveIn and Luna Drive-In comes The Drive In at Troubadour Meridian Water in Enfield, the third drive-in cinema to launch in London this summer.

The Drive In is a new contact-free way to experience film, pre-recorded theatre and live events at Troubadour Meridian Water in Enfield.

Relive the magic of the great American drive-in theatre, with live actors, classic cinema refreshments, great entertainment and all the nostalgia of the 1950s.

Launching on Saturday 4 July 2020, The Drive In will be fully contact-free, with sound played direct to your vehicles’ speakers and, thanks to the top-of-the-range screen, a great view wherever you park up.

‘After the events of the last few months the appetite to experience live entertainment but in a safe and socially distant way is growing’

You’ll be able to see the latest blockbusters, cult classics, stand-up comedy and live music, with snacks and drinks available to order through a mobile app and delivered to your car by an attendant.

The first film screenings include La La Land, Bad Boys for Life, Dirty Dancing and The Terminator (tickets for these are on sale now), with more screenings and performances going on sale soon.

‘After the events of the last few months the appetite to experience live entertainment but in a safe and socially distant way is growing,’ says Laura Elmes, The Drive In Producer.

‘The safety and enjoyment of our customers will be our first priority, so I can think of no better way to start to enjoy cinema and live entertainment than by doing it in a completely contact-free way.’

Tickets will be scanned through your closed car window, vehicles will be spaced two metres apart, and extra measures will be put in place according to the latest government advice.

Guests will be entitled to exchanges or refunds for any cancelled performances, should guidelines change.

Troubadour Meridian Water will be the new site operated by the team behind Troubadour Theatres, who transformed the old Fountain Studios in west London to launch Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre last summer.

The Meridian Water regeneration scheme is a £6 billion development project expected to deliver thousands of homes, jobs and opportunities for local people.

Tickets for The Drive In start from £35 per car. Ten free car tickets per showing will be available to NHS workers booked with code NHSSTAFF (valid ID must be presented at event).
