The Luna Cinema is one of our favourite summer pop ups, but since coronavirus has scuppered, well, just about everything, it won’t be business as usual this year.
But don’t despair, because the show must go on! And for Luna, that means a sensibly socially distanced drive in movie theatre.
The Luna Drive-In Cinema will pop-up at two venues in London as part of UK-wide summer programme, with super sharp LED screens, snacks and drinks delivered to your car and, according The Luna Cinema founder to George Wood, an ‘incredible in-car wireless speaker solution’.
From 4-26 July, The Luna Drive-In Cinema will park up at Allianz Park in Hendon, home of the Saracens Rugby Club, and from 8-21 July, the pop-up cinema will take up residence at Printworks, a nightclub and events venue in Rotherhithe.
Films include Pretty Woman, Knives Out, Rocketman, La La Land, Joker, Parasite, Cool Runnings and even a classic Grease singalong.
There’ll be food and drink on site too, with a brand new ordering and delivery system keeping everything COVID-secure. Browse the complete food and drinks menu and order directly from your phone. Just scanning a QR code and order yourself a classic hot dog, burger, oven-baked pizza or fresh popcorn. Once it’s ready, it will be delivered direct to your car bonnet.
You can also pre-order a hamper. Choose from The Retro Box, The Gourmet Box and The Luxe Box. Think jelly beans, peanut butter cups, fizz wizz, lemon butter shortbread, giant marshmallows and even a cheeseboard.
Tickets start from £29.50. To book see lunadriveincinema.com
