1 The Starman, Mayfair

A tribute to David Bowie, The Star Man is a big spacious pub perfectly located for a knock off drink or two on the corner of Hedden street where Strawberry Moon once stood. 2 Alex Dilling at Hotel Cafe Royal, Piccadilly

After helming Michilen star kitchens, including The Greenhouse and Helene Darroze at The Connaught, Dilling has launched his first restaurant in the heart of the West End. An intimate space that seats just 34 people, the fine dining restaurant plates up contemporary French dishes, with a three-course lunch menu and a seven-course dinner.

3 Goldwood Sports Pub and Kitchen, Bank

The City just got a new sports bar, and it's spacious. There's 20 screens, including two giant screens While you watch other people exert themselves any day of the week, feast on American-style pub grub of the likes of burgers, subs an pizzas, and craft beers or a cocktail or two.

4 Balfour at Bow, St Paul's

The 10th venue for Balfour Hospitality, Balfour at Bow champions Brisith food and its own, English-made wine. This British wine bar gives the Bow Wine Vaults fresh life and has transformed the space into a bistro, restaurant, bar and an outdoor space.

5 Peggy Jean at Riverside Green, Richmond

Part of the Australian restaurant group Daisy Green Collection, Peggy Jean is housed on the Jesus College Boat Race Barge on the Thames. The new bar and restaurant sees the historic barge and sun trap pontoon has been extensively renovated to combine quintessential Oxford College Boat Race charm with Aussie beach club vibes. Enjoy a sundowner, or grab a pizza (the vegemite and cheese one maybe?) or steak.

6 The Meat & Wine Co, Mayfair

Another Australian entry into London's dining scene, and a new place for those who like meat. The Meat & Wine Co is a steakhouse serving a 'programme' of steak and a considered wine list to go with said programme of meat. Bone marrow beef burger, wagu skewers, Lobster mac & cheese and a myriad steak and sauce options, as well as fresh oysters, head here if you're hankering for premium cuts and premium drops.

7 Oak & Poppy, Hampstead

Perfectly located for an post-Hampstead Heath stroll, the Oak & Poppy is the latest venture by the team behind west London canal-side faves, The Summerhouse and the Waterway in Maida Vale. Open for all day dining, there's a retractable roof glass roof in the main dining room to make the most of those warm weather rays.

8 M, Canary Wharf

The third grill restaurant for M Restaurants, and this one is in Canary Wharf on the ground and first floor of the Newfoundland building. There's an 180-cover restaurant, two private dining rooms, a wine tasting room, a cafe and a members' lounge, so it's pretty big. There's also a terrace in this massive venue inspired by luxury yachts.

9 Block Soho

Surf and turf restaurant, Block Soho focuses on coal cooked meats, fish and shellfish. There's an open kitchen for those who want to watch the chefs at work and the meat is hung in the venue's own Himalayan salt chamber. The menu changes regularly and there's a roast on Sundays.
