To welcome the imminent arrival of Compton Restaurant & Bar in Clerkenwell, the venue's attached deli will hold the 'Big Bagel Giveaway' giving away signature sandwiches and bagels to lucky customers...

Tucked away down Jerusalem Passage in Clerkenwell, Compton Deli will give away sandwiches and bagels to its first 150 customers through the doors this Wednesday, June 15, ahead of its official opening.
The giveaway marks the official launch of Compton Restaurant & Bar, which the deli is part of, the following day.
Tomorrow, people can head to the deli from 11am for their chance to try what will be the deli's signature salt beef sandwiches and smoked salmon bagels for a taste of what's to come.
Compton Deli will serve a range of artisanal goods from small scale producers as well as freshly baked breads, pastries, hot filled sandwiches and salads, which will be available for takeaway or to eat on the deli's outside table.
Treats include freshly baked loaves of sourdough and rye, rosemary and olive oil focaccia, savoury and sweet pastries such as kimchi and cheese croissants, chocolate and pistachio babka, and lemon and blueberry loaves.
For a quick lunch, try a house-cured salt beef with fresh sauerkraut and gherkin on thick cut rye, or a club sandwich made with chargrilled chicken, maple-cured bacon and avocado, or smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel with lemon and capers.
There's also a rotating menu of focaccia sandwiches and salads loaded with Mediterranean flavours such as slow-roasted tomatoes, pesto, crispy fried chickpeas and summery salads like Watermelon Greek Salad with feta, cucumber, olives and red onion.
You can also pick up fresh and pantry goods, house-cured charcuterie, British cheeses, as well as home-made seeded crackers and chutneys.
The Deli will be open Monday and Tuesday 8am-3pm, Wednesday to Friday 8am-4pm, and Saturday 8am-3pm.
The deli's Big Bagel Giveaway is on Wednesday, June 16 from 11am.
