1. Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings, Clerkenwell

Bourne & Hollingsworth boasts plates as pretty as their interiors. Their much loved brunch menu includes a cocktail, two courses from the brunch menu as well as a tea or coffee. The menu features both brunch classics such as eggs royale and a full english, as well as options for the more adventurous, including Huevos Benedictos and pancakes served with toasted hazelnuts and caramelised bananas. 2. Bibo At Mondrian Shoreditch

Opened last year, Bibo, at Hotel Mondrian is a Spanish kitchen and tapas bar. While the brunch menu lacks in egg-based dishes (although eggs royale and Benedict feature), here you'll find multiple sharing paellas as well as traditional Spanish small plates such as pat atas bravas, Spanish tortilla, pardon peppers and gambas fritas with spicy mayo. You can also get mains, should you not like the idea of sharing.

3. Bistotheque, Bethnal Green

Start your weekend brunch at Bistrotheque with one of the many breakfast cocktails while you decide what you want to eat from the fairly long brunch men, which serves up both lunchy-brunch dishes and breakfasty-brunch too. Go for something a little big different like the soft shell crab Benedict, or the mushroom ragu with fried bread, or if you need to soak up the remnants of the night before, the Bistrotheque Breakfast is a big English fry up, that works well with several bloody Marys.

4. Rapsa, Hoxton

Filipino fusion restaurant Rapsa serves up punchy flavour-laden dishes, which, on the weekend, you can pair with bottomless Aperol spritz, fizz or boozy slushies (£34s pp). Go for one of the big breakfasts, or try something a bit different, such as the halloumi finger sandwich with fried egg, banana ketchup, tomato, avocado salsa and spring onion hash; cured salmon bibingka loaf with scrambled eggs and herb creme fraiche; or Longcilog longanisa sausage, garlic rice, atchara and fried egg. American-style restaurant and cocktail bar Dirty Bones, serves up an indulgent brunch, which you can make bottomless (for £25pp) should you want a bit more hedonism in your morning. One of the best east-side antipodean cafes in London, Ozone serves up a stellar brunch alongside good, strong, coffee and bloody Marys with kick. A Cantonese -style dim-sum teahouse near Liverpool Street Station has as weekend brunch set menu (£68p, minimum two people), that comes with a welcome cocktail and as bottle of Moët & Chandon Imperial to share. With smokey-grilled Middle Eastern dishes the ticket here, Berber & Q serves up a moorish weekend brunch. Chose regular shaksuka, or choose to 'pimp' it by adding avocado, chickpeas and a chili salsa. There's also Turkish eggs with baba ghanoush and a yoghurt sauces and the full Israeli to share between two, which is a platter laden with lots of goodness including smokey baba ghanoush, hummus, marinated feta, eggs and roasted beets.
