TfL celebrates the Year of the Bus

As part of the London Design Festival, TfL has teamed up with Outline Artists and designjunction to mark the ‘Year of the Bus’ with a series of limited edition Oyster Card holders

The year 2014 marks a series of very different milestones for ‘the London bus.’ First, they stopped accepting cash for tickets, and now, TfL celebrates 60 years since the creation of the original and iconic Routemaster, 75 years since the launch of its predecessor the RT-type bus, and 100 years since hundreds of London buses were sent to the Western Front to play a crucial role during the First World War. For this year’s London Design Festival (13-21 Sept) TfL have joined up with Outline Artists and  designjunction  to create a series of limited edition oyster card holders featuring the work of some of the UK’s most exciting graphic designers and illustrators. All  the TfL card designs will feature the ‘Year of the Bus’ theme with each artist’s take on the London bus and a central London bus map on the inside of the wallet.
