This might be the only time cars and booze go well together...

It's not often one should advocate the union of grog and driving, yet Britain's oldest caterer Searcys is bringing fizz on wheels to London for one glorious day.

As part of its 175th anniversary celebrations, Searcys has converted a 1935 Rolls-Royce Sedanca de Ville into a fully working mobile champagne bar filled with the full range of Searcys Selected Cuvées - from champagne to rosé.

The best bit about this fully stocked mobile bar is that it will probably drive past you at some point, on Wednesday July 27, when it takes to London's street to hand out free champers.

Embarking on a one-day whistle-stop tour of the capital, the Searcys Champagne Coupé will pass by Inner Temple, Searcys at the Gherkin, The Stationer's Hall and 116 Pall Mall, and hand out glasses of its stock to passersby.

The bar will stop at St Pancras International, and The Honourable Artillery Company, Searcys at the Gherkin and Stationers' Hall, which are all in the City.

The coupé will also visit Inner Temple in Blackfriars, The View in the Royal College of Surgeons in Holborn and the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in Covent Garden.

116 Pall Mall and 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, both in St James's, and The Royal Institution in Mayfair will also receive a drive by.

If you're not lucky enough to catch the Rolls Royce when it's stationary, don't worry, as if you snap a pic of the car-bar on the road, you can swap it for a complimentary clasts of Searcys Selected Cuvée Brut at on to Searcys bars, including St Pancras Brasserie and 116 Pall Mall Champagne Bar.
