Celebrating the Queen’s 70-year reign, the Platinum Jubilee is going to be one mighty grand occasion.

As part of the festivities, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant will be on Sunday, June 5, and it needs an army of volunteers to make it happen.

The jubilant procession is set to be like no other featuring a cast of thousands celebrating how British creativity has evolved through music and fashion over the seven decades of the Queen’s reign from 1952 to 2022.

The pageant team are looking for creative people who may still be stuck in their favourite – albeit bygone era – to dig out their favourite clothes from their favourite times for a segment called The Time of Our Lives.

The idea behind the segment is to bring to life the British subcultures which emerged under Queen Elizabeth’s rule, from 1952 to 2022.

So if you’re an ageing hippy or an old-school dirty raver, or if you used to spend every weekend at the roller disco or at some Northern Soul night, now’s the time to brush off your favourite pair of fuzzy legwarmers, synthetic shirt, crochet top, or to test out those beloved skates once more.

Goths, metalheads, Notting Hill Carnival lovers, glam rockers and more are also welcome to frock up in their finest.

Registrations are now open until Sunday May, 1, 2022. To register your interest visit cast.platinumpageant.com
