As lockdown measures continue to ease, London’s art galleries are starting to reopen.

West End galleries including White Cube Mason’s Yard, Stephen Friedman Gallery, Hauser & Wirth, Pace Gallery, Sprüth Magers and David Zwirner, decided collectively to open by appointment only on 15 June.

Opening by appointment only allows for easier social distancing, and visitors to all galleries are encouraged to take their own masks, although galleries can provide them if necessary.

One south London gallery, the Ben Oakley Gallery in Greenwich, pipped the West End galleries to the post, however, by opening on Friday 12 June.

David Zwirner gallery in Mayfair reopened to visitors on June 15 2020 as Covid-19 lockdown restrictions continue to ease across England.

The gallery, located on Grafton Street, is open by appointment only to keep visitor numbers down, which means you can really take your time to enjoy the exhibitions.

In this video, Angela Choon, Senior Partner at David Zwirner, talks us through the ‘new normal’ at London’s art galleries…

David Zwirner is currently hosting two exhibitions: Late Klee, an exhibition of Paul Klee’s (1879–1940) work exploring the diverse visual and formal styles of his art from the early 1930s until his death in 1940; and Bridget Riley Studies, in which the artist has selected a group of works from the 1980s and 1990s that reflect the connection between the writings of Klee and her own understanding of abstract painting. Both exhibitions run until 31 July.
