In celebration of a big year ahead for rugby, Lawrence Dallaglio launches The Green Park Oval Ball Run at Twickenham Stadium

In celebration of a big year ahead for rugby, The Green Park Oval Ball Run will see an eclectic mix of predominantly classic cars and vehicles journey to Le Stade de France, Paris, from various locations and rugby venues across the UK, including Reading, Newcastle, Gloucester, Exeter, London and Oxford. The event, to be staged in August 2015, will involve a maximum of 120 cars per run and will raise funds for two children’s charities – Dallaglio Foundation and Child Bereavement UK.

The car rally will start on the 10 August and finish on 14 August 2015. Next year, England is hosting The Rugby World Cup 2015, with the tournament scheduled to run from 18 September to 31 October 2015.

‘Although the emphasis for the run is on classic cars, it is very much an inclusive event and welcomes all cars from Morgans to Mondeos. We’re encouraging car entries of all types including Edwardian, Vintage, post-Vintage and Classic vehicles, as well as super cars, motorcycles and commercials,’ said one of the event organisers Tony Cole. ‘As the Green Park Oval Ball Run is a run not a race, it is designed to be suitable for all. It will bring people together from across the country for some fun and to raise money for good causes.’

‘We are so grateful for the support of the Green Park Oval Ball Run as the monies raised from this event will enable us to support even more young people across the UK,’ said Lawrence Dallaglio.

‘Child Bereavement UK is delighted to have been chosen as one of the beneficiary charities for the Green Park Oval Ball Run,’ said Vanessa Fay, the Director of Development, Child Bereavement UK. ‘The funds raised will enable us to provide life-changing support for more children, young adults and families facing the devastation of child bereavement to help them to rebuild their lives.’

‘We’re really excited to be a lead supporter of the event,’ said Chris Carter-Keall, Head of Asset Management, Oxford Properties. ‘The Green Park Oval Ball Run captures the spirit of community and sets out to make a difference. It’s a great initiative and we’re pleased to be involved.’
