Make the most of warm summer days at this new east London hang out screening films and sports throughout August...

Lead Picture: Hackney Bridge

Lazy summer days and evenings just got better as Hackney Bridge, the canal-side workspace, pub and street food market opposite Hackney Wick proper will broadcast a programme of family friendly films on its new, huge outdoor screen.

On August 6 and August 11, films Bohemian Rhapsody and Grease will be accompanied by Babel Brass Band, a New Orleans-style funk and jazz group.

Hackney Bridge will also screen Parent Trap, Moana and School of Rock this August, and these sessions are free and unticketed.

The two-metre by four-metre screen will overlook Hackney Bridge Gardens, and you can plonk yourself down on a rug or a chair on the grassy bit along the canal front.

You can also pick yourself up a cold crisp pint, along with some tacos, Vietnamese, pizza or some other delicious treat from Hackney Bridge's many street food traders.
