London’s biggest summer food festival will return to Clapham Common for a three-day feast this July

Call yourself a foodie? This is the festival for you.

Foodies Festival, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is touring around the UK to celebrate the best in food and wine this summer. After a successful weekend at Alexandra Palace earlier this month, the next stop on the Foodies Festival calendar is Clapham Common – and the South London event is set to bigger and better than ever before.

From 24 – 26 July, 35,000 visitors are expected to attend the flagship festival to enjoy demonstrations from top chefs, the new and improved Street Food Avenue, chilli-eating competitions and the highlight of the weekend’s activities, a couples spaghetti-eating race.

The line-up in the Chef’s Theatre this year includes healthy living blogger Deliciously Ella, 2014 Masterchef winner Ping Coombes, Ben Tish from Salt Yard, Paul Shearing from Bread Street Kitchen and TV chef Aldo Zilli.

Baking fans should keep an eye out for the Cake & Bake Theatre, where experts from local bakeries will be sharing their tips on making summer cakes, 3D cake modelling and sugar-craft. There will also be a Children’s Cookery Theatre for younger foodies and an Artisan Producers Market packed with over 200 stalls for guests to sample a few treats before choosing which ones to take home.

And if you’re thirsty? Head to the Wine and Champagne Theatre where Neil Phillips and Charles Metcalfe will be showcasing the best fizz from around the world or enjoy a pit-stop at the Captain Morgan Mojito Galleon for a delicious cocktail.

Foodies Festival will be open from 11am – 8pm on 24 and 25 July and from 11am – 7pm on 26. Tickets are available from £10 at foodiesfestival.com. All children aged 12 and under go free when accompanied by an adult.
