Cocktails in the City, a series of events celebrating the capital's buzzing bar and cocktail scene and warm weather, kicks off today in Bloomsbury.

Round one of three runs Thursday to Saturday this week, July 7-9 with a focus on innovation and discovery, meaning you're bound to discover something new, be it a creative concoction, unexpected flavour combination, a new spirit, or chance upon a bar team new to you, who will whip up an imaginative drink for you to try.

During the weekend of alfresco celebrations set within the leafy garden, there's also live entertainment, top street food and master classes to enjoy.

This first weekend of the series features 20 of London's best bars, from the capital's dive bars to its hidden gems and indulgent and accoladed watering holes.

This includes Blind Pig, Bourne & Hollingsworth, Callooh Callay, The Mezzanine at The Stratford, TT Liquor and the Homeboy bars.

Each bar will have their own pop-up station at the festival and pair with a booze brand, including female-owned carbon neutral organic whisky distillery, Mc'Nean Distillery and British tequila Vivir.

Cafe Pacifico, Officina 00 and Sticks N Sushi are among the food vendor plating up a world of delicious dishes to eat as well.

You can also have a game of shuffle board, curtesy of London Shuffle Club or have a boogie in the silent disco.

Cocktails in the City's Discovery and Innovation weekend takes place Thursday to Saturday July 7-9.

The second round, the International Edition takes place Thursday to Saturday August 11-13.

The last iteration, the Festival of Drinks, closes the festival on Thursday to Saturday, September 8-10.

Tickets for either the afternoon or evening session are £20, and available at feverup.com.
