Tube strikes. They’re on, they’re off… After the Night Tube and ticket closure strikes were recently called off at the last minute, the RMT has announced further action.

Some 500 track patrol staff plan to join 1,500 maintenance workers in a 24-hour strike starting from 6.30am on Friday 12 February for 24 hours, with a second planned for 12 hours from 6.30am on Sunday 6 March. There will be another 24-hour strike from 6.30am on Friday 25 March and then a 12-hour walkout on Sunday 27 March.

Fortunately, Fitzrovia’s critically acclaimed new restaurant, Piquet, has invited diners to enjoy 50% off their total food bill in The Fir Room during the upheaval, keeping the offer running until 18 March 2016. To claim the offer, simply quote ‘Polly Hawkins’ on arrival.

Upstairs at Piquet, The Fir Room serves a delicious menu of small plates from cod cheeks to charcuterie, crackling to croquettes as well as heartier dishes like the must-try Le Piggy burger. It’s the perfect place to stop by for a light lunch or post-work grazing with friends over a bottle of wine or cocktail.
