This Mexican Japanese bar comes from the team behind Los Mochis. A high-energy, but intimate hideaway, Viajante87 has its own mixology lab focusing on contemporary creative cocktails that are made with minimal waste. Billed as an agaveria-cum-Izakaya, expect tequilas, sashimi and sandos.

3 Granger & Co, Westbourne Grove
An easy going cafe plating up a strong Australian-style brunch, Granger & Co fits right into Notting Hill's chilled out vibes. The avocado-heavy menu focuses on feel good ingredients and the types of dishes speak of warm weather beach-side cafe dining - try the ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter with an iced matcha latte.

4 The Princess Royal, Hereford Road
The Princess Royal comes with a large dining room and bar, a walled garden, private dining rooms and four bedrooms should you want to stay over. The menu features elegant riffs on Mediterranean cuisines, with dishes such as red prawn crudo; English Burrata with blood orange and radicchio; and Old Spot pork chop with salt roasted beets, new season carrots, walnut picada. There’s a dedicated raw menu as well, offering the likes of oysters, wild bream crudo and aged beef tarte.

5 Lisboa Patisserie, Golborne Road
It’s custard tart wars on Golborne Road. Many claim this café has the best mini-yellow pastry crowns in town; others are loyal to Café Oporto. This is the busier of the two, and at weekends they tend to sell out by late afternoon. Crowds side, Lisboa is a great café, serving strong bica (Portuguese espresso) and big, creamy pastries on par with those found in Lisbon.

6 Core by Clare Smyth, Kensington Park Road
A modern British restaurant by an ex-Gordon Ramsay chef for special occasions, Core is as three Michelin star restaurant and something very lovely. Using top British ingredients, dishes include braised morel with confit and smoked duck, scallop tartare and a wagyu and oyster riff on surf and turf. Go a tasting menu or set a la carte.

A music-focused wine bar and small plates restaurant, Caia often has guest DJs, including Horse Meat Disco DJs and a monthly programme of music-related events. Wines are both new and old world, and dishes are cooked over an open fire grill.

8 Rika Moon, Kensington Park Road
Rika Moon serves up Japanese fusion dishes and imaginative cocktails in a lush interior. With Chef Paul Greening (ex Novikov and Aqua Kyoto) helming the kitchen, expect to chow on the likes of wagyu tataki, Chilean seabass with foie gras miso, as well as a selection of nigiri sushi and sushi maki.
