1 The Libertines
 The Libertines will be headlining the OnBlackheath stage on Sunday 10 September, and after their performance at Live from Times Square in Newcastle this summer when they showed fans that, despite the band’s tumultuous history, they can still deliver, it looks like we’re in for a treat. Expect hits like Time for Heroes, You’re My Waterloo and Don’t Look Back Into the Sun with a generous dose of that old Doherty-Barât stage chemistry.

* UPDATE*
 Due to Hurricane Irma, De La Soul will no longer be able to play at OnBlackheath as not all band members are able to travel. Instead, Brixton legends Basement Jaxx will be headlining Stage 2.

2 De La Soul
From English post-punk indie rock to American hip hop sensations De La Soul, the line-up at OnBlackheath this year is strong! The trio will take to the stage on Saturday, one of many excellent acts building towards the headliners Travis (lets hope it doesn’t rain on us!), dusting off big tracks from their 1989 debut album 3 Feet High and Rising, like the huge Me, Myself and I, and our favourite, Oooh. Their latest album, And the Anonymous Nobody, released last summer, made No 1 on the US Billboard Hip-Hop chart and features the likes of Damon Albarn, Snoop Dogg and Estelle.

3 Kate Tempest
Discovering new music is what festivals are all about – as well as jumping about to your favourite bands and guzzling all the Meantime, of course – and Kate Tempest is one of those names you won’t forget in a hurry. Tempest, born just down the road from Blackheath in Brockley, is a Ted Hughes award-winning playwright, author, urban poet, rapper and musician who took Glastonbury by storm this summer, launching a scathing attack on Theresa May, Rupert Murdoch and ‘collective hate’ and garnering heartfelt praise on social media. Her track The Beigeness, from her 2014 Mercury Prize-nominated debut album, is a fierce toe-tapper.

4 KT Tunstall
She may have moved to the other side of the world (geddit?!), but KT Tunstall’s love for London means she’s going to really bring the party when she performs at OnBlackheath 2017… The Scottish-born California girl was so excited about her upcoming performance at OnBlackheath when The Resident interviewed her in the run up to the gig that we can’t wait to see her live. ‘It’s going to be loud, it’s going to be high energy, and it’s going to be a good laugh,’ she told us. 5 Tony Rodd
MasterChef finalist and Blackheath resident Tony Rodd will be curating the John Lewis Food Village this year with that trademark style, charm and ‘tache. He’ll be on the Chef’s Stage at 4pm on Saturday, and he’s invited another great local chef, Guy Awford of Hand Made Food in Blackheath and The Guildford Arms in Greenwich, to join in the fun – Guy will be on stage at 12pm on Sunday. Don’t miss Michael Bremner, from BBC2’s Great British Menu and owner and head chef at 64 Degrees restaurant in Brighton, either.

6 The Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir
We can’t get enough of the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir! After storming the charts and taking the highly coveted Christmas Number One spot in 2015 with their single A Bridge Over You – with Justin Beiber’s full support – they’ve been unstoppable. And after that fraught – and thankfully successful – battle to save Lewisham A&E back in 2013, the more noise the NHS makes the better!

7 Retro Bambi
If you haven’t got your #waveygarms sorted yet, you can always visit the Retro Bambi pop-up, which will be at OnBlackheath all weekend. Known for their festival wear, dancewear and sparkles, this vintage clothing boutique has garnered quite the following. Bag yourself a designer bargain or go full colour festival wear with this cool collection of retro clothing and accessories put together by enigmatic stylist Joanna Kiff.

8 Being a Big Kid
OnBlackheath puts a lot of thought into its family offering, and with appearances by Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen, author of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, on Saturday, as well as Julian Clary, who has been expanding his comedy brand with his hilarious children’s books, on Sunday, those without kids in tow might just find themselves gravitating towards the Storytelling Stage… Oh and Basil Brush – who was first shown on British TV in 1968 but is now a thoroughly modern fox, having appeared at Glastonbury and garnered quite the social media following – will also be there on Saturday.

9 The Flying Seagull Project
The Flying Seagulls – a travelling troupe of mischief makers – will be returning to OnBlackheath to entertain the crowds during and between shows. Armed with an abundance of shows and circus workshops that’ll tickle the old and the young, these guys run projects the world over to deliver laughter to those who need it most, from visiting poorly children in hospitals to taking Big Top tents to refugee camps, so head to the Old Wagon Stage and show them some love.

10 The Big Glittery ON
 The big glittery on greeted gleeful revelers as they arrived last year, creating queues of people looking to out Instagram each other. So get their early, get your hashtags prepped and bust out your best Boomerang in front of the giant ON!
