 Known as ‘Billionaire’s Row’, The Bishops Avenue in north London has been ranked the second most expensive street in Britain – just off the avenue, Fairways is believed to be the UK’s priciest new-build property. Designed by celebrity interior designer Celia Sawyer, it has eight bedroom suites and a leisure complex with pool, sauna, gym, bar and cinema. The entrance hall, features a sweeping staircase and multi-storey atrium, and there’s also a guest cottage with views of Highgate golf course.

Designer Celia Sawyer’s favourite area is the family room, which spans the rear of the property and opens onto the garden. ‘I decided to create a masculine and feminine end, using an elegant form of furniture in the female end, complementing this with a more masculine form using similar materials in the male end,’ she said,

London is the top choice for luxury homes
 For the second year in a row London has topped the rankings of luxury property markets, according to a report from Christie’s International Real Estate which compared 10 of the world’s key cities: Côte d’Azur, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Sydney, Toronto and London. London had the highest record home sales price ($101.5m), the highest square foot prices (averaging $4,683 in 2013) and the highest entry price point for luxury property ($7.8m).

In 2013 the UK capital saw a 20% increase in number of luxury property sales. ‘A transparent, secure and liquid market is attracting homebuyers from all over the world to London, a truly cosmopolitan city offering one of the world’s great lifestyles,’ said Andy Martin at Strutt & Parker, Christie’s UK affiliate.
