INTERIORS TRENDS & INSPIRATION THIS OCTOBER
Modern heritage wallpapers
British fabric house Blendworth has been raiding the Wedgwood archives to create its new range of fabrics and wallpapers. Just launched at Decorex, it is part of Wedgwood’s wider ambitions to expand its homes offering beyond tableware, and the designs by Blendworth subtly update or adapt Wedgwood’s heritage patterns to produce this collection of tasteful and sophisticated prints.

Pairing a contemporary jeweller known for her bold, sculptural pieces with a stone specialist is on first thought an unexpected collaboration, but when you see the eye-catching tables that Lara Bohinc has designed with Lapicida, it all makes perfect sense. The Lunar Collection takes inspiration from the planets for the design of the side, coffee and dining tables, and each one strikingly showcases Bohinc’s signature intersecting circular motifs and Lapicida’s exquisite marbles. This is furniture that’s out of this world.
England’s Post-War Listed Buildings by Elain Harwood, with photographs by James O. Davies (Batsford, £40), is addictive, covering 650 eclectic and interesting places from telephone boxes to concert halls, council offices to Barbara Hepworth’s sculpture garden. It is an encyclopaedic, fascinating, overview of how architectural styles have evolved in the years since 1945, with a succinct synopsis on each building and why it was listed, as well as stunning photography.
Buy it for £35 (inc UK p&p) by calling 0844 576 8122 and quoting CH1939 or via store.pavilionbooks.com

Whether you are an aficionado of classic 20th century furniture design or prefer the decorative arts, you will find it showcased in the capital this month. My must-visits are the Classic Car Boot sale at King’s Cross on 3-4 October (vintagebyhemingway.co.uk); the Mid-Century Show East on 11 October 11 (modernshows.com); and the Pavilion of Art and Design (PAD) held in Berkeley Square from 14-18 October (pad-fairs.com).
