With a great variety of housing, close proximity to Richmond Park and good transport links, East Sheen has something for everyone, says Robin Gutcher from Robinson Residential

Most people have heard of and/or visited Richmond, Kew, Putney, Mortlake and Barnes for their famous views, gardens, boat race and historic buildings, but East Sheen (or is it Sheen? no one really knows which is ‘right’!), is often viewed as just that bit in the middle where the main A205 runs through!

I’ll admit that what we don’t have in Sheen is a tube line, but what we do have here are great transport links, with the aforementioned A205 providing access in and out of London. The area is also well served by Mortlake and North Sheen mainline stations, which both offer direct services to Clapham Junction and Waterloo.

We are also fortunate to have the many acres of Royal parkland at Richmond Park adjoined by Sheen Common and the lesser known Palewell Common on our doorsteps. This amount of accessible green open space in London is very rare, and the Thames is just moments away too.

These features are a huge draw to the area, but the area is also becoming well-known for having great state primary schools, making it the perfect choice for growing families.

SW14 has an abundance of properties to suit all sorts, from huge manor houses at £10,000,000 to studio flats to let at £950pcm. We recently sold a flat with an asking price of £1,650,000 in Sheen Gate Gardens which offered fabulous living space, a private rear garden and had accommodation over two floors.

If you have not stumbled across Sheen or stopped off rather than just crawling along the South Circular to get somewhere else then try it, you won’t be disappointed!
