Work Begins at London’s Newest Landmark, Marylebone Square

Marylebone Square breaks ground, marking the start of construction on the largest piece of undeveloped land in central London

Ground has been broken at central London’s newest residential icon, Marylebone Square. Located on the last whole city block in W1 yet to be developed, the smart new address will comprise 54 luxury new-build homes, clustered around a central courtyard that will provide a calming wellness environment.

The homes are being created by Concord London, developer of the almost sold-out east London landmark, Principal Tower, at Amazon’s UK Headquarters in the Principal Place campus.

Construction is progressing despite the current challenges caused by Covid-19, and the development is already 40% sold, with many registering to take advantage of the unique opportunity to buy in this exceptional location.

‘Concord has been developing in Marylebone since 1996,’ said Chris Murray, Managing Director of Concord London, ‘and as someone who lives and works in Marylebone, I am honoured to have been given the rare opportunity to complete such a special project on the last whole city block in this sought-after area of London.’

Wellbeing is at the heart of Marylebone Square, with a five-storey atrium taking centre stage. Filled with natural sunlight and a diverse array of greenery, the space could easily be mistaken for Kew Gardens’ Palm House. All residents will benefit from the central water feature and elegant design, which will set a template for other developments to match.

Plus, the courtyard has a second unique quality. As Simon Bowden explains: ‘In response to current health concerns including, COVID-19, the design of the courtyard offers residents clear benefits, with a plentiful fresh air flow entering through the roof of the five storey high volume… and greater room to move around.’

The development has been designed by the acclaimed E8 Architecture around a modern Georgian framework. The high-specification homes vary from one, two and three-bedroom apartments to 12 spectacular two and three-bedroom penthouses. Many homes also have private balconies and are further kitted out with enhanced clean air management in common spaces, as well as a touchless journey for residents from the curb to their front door.

Marylebone Square will be ideally placed for anyone looking to make the move to the sought-after central London village.

Breaking ground at Marylebone Square

In addition to providing public parking spaces and high-end retail offerings as part of the development, Concord London, has included a brand new community space, Marylebone Hall, which will become home to Marylebone Farmers’ Market.

The development is close to several tube stations, and residents can also enjoy greenery at two of London’s most famous parks, Regent’s Park and Hyde Park, which are both less than a 10-minute walk away.
