There is a great sense of individuality about Askew Village which makes it an increasingly attractive proposition for residents and businesses alike. Unlike many modern-day high streets, Askew Village is not over-populated with generic brands. Alongside recognisable outlets, there are many inspiring individual businesses such as Leiths , Laveli, The Ginger Pig, Cherry Red, Detour, Monkey Temple and Askew Wine, not to mention the many creative artisan businesses thriving in Kite Studios. This mix of independent and recognisable stores draws a wide and diverse cross section of people to an area already attractive for its green spaces including Wendell Park, schools and variety of pubs and restaurants.
Finlay Brewer has worked hard to become an integral part of the community and demonstrate our long term commitment to Askew Village by becoming involved with local initiatives including the Askew Business Network, charities doing exceptional work like The Upper Room and school events including the Greenside School Art Fair, the Wendell Park Summer School Fair and the St Stephen’s School Quiz and Silent Auction.
Looking back over 2014, it has been an unexpected year which has seen wild fluctuations in the market from the highs at the beginning of the year to a stagnant spring and early summer moving into a steady October where trading is balanced and prices have settled back to levels that accurately represent the local market and put it into context within the wider London market.
