Greenland Group, one of China’s largest premium residential developers, launches Spire London in the Docklands –  the tallest residential tower in the UK and Western Europe at 771 ft and 67-storeys

Spire London, located in Hertsmere Road, adjacent to Canary Wharf, makes the most of its Docklands location, directly fronting onto the glistening waters of West India Quay. With a concierge, retail, residents’ gardens and five-star lifestyle amenities, including a 35th-floor Spa and Club Bar – not to mention a Gross Development Value in excess of £800 million – it is one of London’s most ambitious property developments.

The tower has been designed to provide uninterrupted panoramic views over London, taking in the Thames, Canary Wharf, the City of London and numerous landmarks. The striking architecture by Larry Malcic and Christopher Colosimo of architectural practice HoK, is inspired by the nautical history of the site and by the orchid, a flower cultivated in China for more than 3,000 years. The angled roof of the tower allows for outside terraces in the premier and penthouse apartments.

Peter GIBNEY, Director at JLL – joint sole agents with CBRE – said: ‘Spire London is exceptionally well located, on the doorstep of Canary Wharf, London’s financial hub, as well as providing easy access to the City of London and the UK stock exchange centre.

‘The tower is just a short walk from Canary Wharf underground station (Jubilee line) and Canary Wharf and West India Quay DLR stations, providing access to Bond Street, Bank and City Airport within 15 minutes, and has the added benefit of the new Crossrail Link due to open in 2018.’

Leading interior designer Nicola Fontanella of Argent Design has created apartments with bright open-plan interiors, 2.6 metre high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows

Spire London will provide 861 apartments, including 765 luxurious suites, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, plus three bedroom duplex penthouses, for private sale. Leading interior designer Nicola Fontanella of Argent Design has worked closely with Greenland Group to create apartments with bright open-plan interiors with 2.6 metre high ceilings in the living spaces and bedrooms, bordered by floor-to-ceiling windows.

With curved walls, flowing spaces and an abundance of natural light, the stylish apartments include comfort cooling, large living areas, custom-designed open-plan bespoke kitchens and boutique hotel-style bathrooms with high quality finishes in natural materials including timber and stone. The premier and penthouse apartments on floors 56-66 have designer kitchens with breakfast bars, walk-in dressing rooms and private roof terraces.

Around the tower there will be a new public realm with a paved piazza, birch trees and a dramatic dancing fountain, as well as an open deck on the thrid floor which forms a residents’ garden. There is also a 35th-floor Spa with an infinity-edge swimming pool, gymnasium and fitness studio, as well as a Club room with cocktail bar and a cinema room.

The construction of Spire London is underway and build completion is scheduled for 2020. Apartments at Spire London are priced from £595,000 (999-year leases, virtual freehold). The public launch will take place at Warehouse Number One, adjacent to the site in the Docklands, on Thursday 13 October 2016.
