This weekend, Manchester United takes on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup Final at Wembley. With both teams spending big bucks on new players at the start of the season, property portal TheHouseShop.com has worked out how much real estate you could buy for the same price…
With Manchester United shelling out almost £100 million in transfers this season, TheHouseShop team began to wonder how far the money spent on the FA Cup finalists’ transfer bills would go on the property market.
Man United’s transfer bill for their four most expensive new players this season was £93.1 million, which could buy you 417 detached houses in Manchester – enough to give 38 houses to each of the team’s starting 11. Alternatively, you could snap up 740 semi-detached houses, 1,404 terraced houses or 539 flats.
Underdogs Crystal Palace may have quite so much cash to play with, but they still spent £22.5million on new players this season, with which you could buy 30 detached houses in Croydon. Alternatively, you could buy 51 semi-detached houses, 67 terraced houses or 82 apartments.
The action may be over in Wembley, but there’ll be a lot of love for the local team in Crystal Palace on Saturday…
