Comic Relief has announced the final total raised for the 2026 edition of Red Nose Day.
On Friday, March 20, a host of celebrities appeared at Salford’s MediaCity for the Comic Relief telethon hosted by Davinia McCall.
The show was kicked off with a performance by Catherine Tate as her character Nan, and included sketches inspired by some of the biggest shows on the BBC, including The Traitors and Amandaland.
Throughout the show, comedians Tate, Joel Dommett, Katherine Ryan, and Nick Mohammed joined McCall.
How much did Comic Relief raise for 2026?
At the end of the Red Nose Day special, McCall revealed the total raised for the 2026 edition of Comic Relief.
Sharing: "The total raised tonight is a whopping £30,004,040.
"Thank you so, so much and thank you for your incredible generosity."
The first total of the night was revealed to be £11,520,926.
During the live show, BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James appeared to speak about his 1,000km cycling challenge, which saw him travel from Weymouth to Edinburgh over eight days and raise £4,225,939 for Comic Relief.
The broadcaster said that when the Prince of Wales briefly joined him on his journey and took a seat on the back of his tandem bicycle, he had “never held on more tightly.”
He joked, “Can you imagine what would have happened to me if he fell off? It would have been the end – maybe the end of Comic Relief.”
A pre-recorded video of Comic Relief co-founder Sir Lenny Henry played at the start of the show, thanking the public for their fundraising over the past 41 years, hailing their dedication as the “definition of a truly United Kingdom”.
Comic Relief is a UK charity that aims “to help put food on plates, roofs over heads and keep little ones safe,” and was co-founded by Sir Lenny Henry and Love Actually screenwriter Richard Curtis in 1985.
Money raised by Red Nose Day goes towards organisations helping to tackle homelessness, poverty, and mental health, along with other causes in the UK and throughout the world.
