Just a stone’s throw away from Harrods sits San Carlo Cicchetti Knightsbridge – a sophisticated, buzzy, delicious food and drinks space with an upmarket feel.

With a small outdoor seating area on the pavement, an array of indoor dining spaces and a feature bar room, you are never short of relaxing and aesthetically pleasing places to sit, eat, drink and enjoy during your visit.

The San Carlo name always lives up to its standards and offers authentic Italian cuisine right across the UK, and in one of London’s hottest spots, Cicchetti Knightsbridge doesn’t disappoint.

The Resident:

I visited the restaurant for lunch on a Sunday, to have a catch up with friends and have a light meal with sharing plates and good flavours.

Even with the sunny weather, the restaurant was busy and buzzy inside, with the terrace tables also filled outside.

Going with the Cicchetti style menu, we decided to get a couple of things to share as starters, and then we picked our own small plates to have as mains.

The Resident:

We went for an insalata caprese and the salmon tartare, and neither dish disappointed.

Although small in size, they were they perfect taster, and the ingredients were nothing less than fresh and flavoursome.

My favourite was the salmon tartare – this is my go-to dish when it’s on the menu at any restaurant, and the salmon was thick in size, melt in the mouth, and the dressing paired perfectly with the fish and avocado flavouring.

For a more main course option, my friend and I both had the seabass baked in salt crust, and my other friend had the seafood pasta.

The Resident:

The seabass came in salt crust and was prepared at the table, and it was perfectly filleted so that just the fish with a slightly salty and lemon flavour was left on the plate.

Paired with some fries, I was perfectly satisfied and we spent the whole lunch putting the world to rights.

My sweet tooth can never resist a dessert, especially not when it’s in the form of Nutella dough balls and a chocolate bomb with white chocolate mousse.

The Resident:

They finished our lunch off so perfectly and we were ready to head out into Knightsbridge and do some shopping, or window shopping, but either works!
