Pup Aid, the popular fun dog show that aims to raise awareness about puppy farming, returns to Primrose Hill on 6 September
Pup Aid – Europe’s biggest event of its kind helping to end the cruel practice of puppy farming – will once again be held in Primrose Hill on 6 September. Puppy farming is the mass production of puppies in horrific conditions to be sold from pet shops, websites, garden centres, private dealers and free newspaper listings.
Combatting this cruel industry, Pup Aid’s animal welfare campaign is showcased annually by a star-studded celebrity-judged fun dog show with past supporters including Ricky Gervais, Brian May, Elle MacPherson, Liam Gallagher, Sarah Harding, Meg Matthews and David Gandy.
As well as dog-loving celebrities judging fun novelty classes such as Waggiest Tail, Best Rescue, Child’s Best Friend, and Coolest Dog in London, there’ll also be amazing doggy displays, have-a-go agility, and the parade of ex-breeding bitches actually rescued from puppy farms.
Free to attend, Pup Aid is a fun day out for all the family where everyone can browse boutique doggy shopping stalls, ask advice from canine experts including vets, groomers, and behaviourists – you can even get your dog microchipped.
TV vet and founder of Pup Aid, Marc Abraham, says: ‘Pup Aid is always a great day out with a unique atmosphere and everyone doing their bit for animal welfare. It’s so important to work together to improve the health and happiness of our nation’s pets and supporting Pup Aid is a fantastic way to achieve that.’

Last year, as well as a fun dog show, Pup Aid launched a Government e-petition asking for a ban on the sale of puppies and kittens without their mums. The petition quickly collected 100,000 signatures – the amount necessary to trigger a debate in the House of Commons. ‘Since moving Pup Aid to Primrose Hill the campaign’s come on leaps and bounds,’ Marc says. ‘We can’t thank The Royal Parks enough for all their support, as well as main sponsors Barking Heads too.’
