Since many of us won’t be able to join our mums for a celebratory Mother’s Day meal this year, why not get creative with a virtual champagne tasting, cookalong or flower-arranging experience?

1 Virtual Mother’s Day with The Milestone Hotel and Residences
For a virtual Mother’s Day experience, flip open your laptop and enjoy a champagne tasting session against the beautiful backdrop of The Milestone Hotel and Residences’ Noel Coward Suite. Before the event, your mother will be sent a beautifully packaged gift with a half-bottle of Lanson Rosé Champagne, a 50ml bottle of gin, homemade Champagne and white chocolate truffles, and all the ingredients you need for the demos. Then, on Mother’s Day, General Manager Andrew Pike will welcome you before Ashley Wilce from Champagne Lanson takes over. The hotel’s Head Mixologist Angelo Lo Greco will then lead you on a theatrical mixology masterclass, where you and your mum will learn how to make two cocktails live from the Stables Bar, once the original stable of the 17th-century building in Kensington. The experience will conclude with Executive Chef Daniel Putz demonstrating how to make the truffles gifted to your mother, created with white chocolate and Lanson Champagne. The live virtual masterclasses start at 4pm. £75.
2 Earl of East x The Botanist Gin Fiche Dó Candle Workshop
13, 14 & 20 March
To celebrate the launch of the new limited-edition Earl of East x The Botanist Gin Fiche Dó Candle, the two brands have teamed up to host a series of special candle workshops. The candle was inspired by the scent of Islay, home of The Botanist Gin, and the name Fiche Dó, which means 22 in Gaelic, is a nod to the 22 foraged island botanicals, including myrtle, spearmint and juniper, used in the gin. The candle workshops will allow guests to escape to the Outer Hebrides through a multi-sensorial masterclass at home. Led by one of Earl of East’s expert candle makers, workshop attendees will be guided through the candle-making process, while also sharing a Botanist Gin cocktail. Ahead of tuning in to the online workshop via Zoom, viewers will receive a bespoke kit containing all of the tools and botanical oils needed to create their very own Fiche Dó candle, alongside a 20cl bottle of The Botanist Gin, highball glassware and cocktail recipe booklet. £55pp.
3 The Cookaway’s Cookalong Gift Experiences
Subscription-free recipe-box The Cookaway hosts free, virtual cook-along experiences with leading chefs every month. The recipe box and live cookalong experiences are also available to buy as a gift, and ahead of Mother’s Day, The Cookaway has teamed up with Good Life Gin to offer a Pink Gin or Cocktail gift experience package. Order a recipe box from The Cookaway before 9 March and you’ll have the option to add either a Pink Gin Gift Box, including a bottle of Good Life Gin made with fresh raspberries and paired with four different botanical Fever-Tree tonics, or a Cocktail Gift Box includes Watermelon Gimlet, Cosmopolitan and Pink Lady pre-mixed cocktails, plus a bottle of Fever-Tree Raspberry & Rose Soda. Prices for recipe boxes start from £16, while the Pink Gin Box is £39 and the Cocktail Gift Box is £35. Hotel Chocolat selection boxes, wines and Champagnes are also available to order alongside recipe boxes.
4 Sculpd x Bloom & Wild’s Pottery & Flower Arranging Experience
Sculpd, the at-home clay pottery kit, has teamed up with online florist Bloom & Wild to create a Mother’s Day pottery and flower arranging kit. Mothers will be able to make three hand-crafted vases from the clay pottery kit, and them arrange craspedia, oat grass, bunny tails, statice and limonium – dried them for longevity so they can be enjoyed throughout the year – into them. A video tutorial hosted by a Sculpd Potter will teach participants how to craft the clay vases from scratch, and there are also flower-arranging tips. Each kit will contain everything you need, including a tube of Bloom & Wild dried flowers, premium air-dry clay, pottery carving and shaping tools, paint, varnish, paint brushes and the video tutorial link. £65.
5 Red Letter Days ‘Time For Mum’ Virtual Festival
