London Cocktail Week returns for its sixth year from 5 – 11 October. With £5 cocktails on offer at 250 venues, plus pop-ups, demonstrations, tastings and mixology classes taking place around town, there’s no excuse not to experiment with a delicious drink or two

Good news! Over 250 carefully selected London bars and restaurants will be serving £5 signature cocktails throughout the week. Participating venues include Oskar’s Bar at Dabbous, Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings, Hawksmoor, Foxlow, Aqua Nueva and the Oxo Tower. Before making the most of these discounted drinks, you’ll need to purchase a £10 LCW wristband (these can be picked up from the Cocktail Village and World Class Hub listed below). Pop-up bars, trucks, vans and bicycles will take over this market space as they serve up their specially created cocktails. Soak up the alcohol at the street food stalls and pay a visit to the mezzanine where you’ll find the The House of Angostura; a pop-up house party open every night of the week. The mezzanine will also house the LCW ticket office where wristbands can be purchased. Pop into the LCW hub at Soho’s Vinyl Factory and enjoy drinks from the world’s best bartenders plus free events hosted by leading spirits brands. Highlights include the Tanqueray Art Deco bar, the Ketel One Vodka Kitchen and the Haig Club Dining Room, where guests can learn how to perfect the classic Negroni. Join Tomas Estes, the European ambassador for tequila, and his son Jesse for a lesson in this famous Mexican tipple at the Bear Gallery. Tickets include two cocktails plus a Hobo beer. The masterclass will run from 1-2pm, 8 October at the Bear Gallery, 8A Great Eastern St, EC2A 3NT. Tickets are £10.
Love bourbon? Woodford Reserve Brand Ambassadors Tom Vernon and Nate Booker will discuss the history behind this classic American cocktail, before guests get the chance to experiment with making an Old Fashioned to suit their own taste. There will be eight sessions taking place from 6 – 9 October at 347 Old Street, EC1V 9LP. Tickets are £15.
Are you a Cosmo fan or more of a Bloody Mary drinker? Join Absolut Vodka Brand Ambassador Rico at this Shoreditch restaurant to discover all there is to know about your favourite cocktail. There are six 45 minute sessions, starting with Sea Breeze and finishing with a masterclass in the Espresso Martini, taking place from 12pm – 6.45pm on 10 October. Tickets are £5 and include a welcome drink.
The team behind East London speakeasy Nightjar will be offering guests a preview of their latest venture, Oriole, at this two-day pop-up from 6 – 8 October. 86 Co Spirits and Gin Mare will be at the helm to create four cocktails from Oriole’s first menu. Open from 8 – 10pm at the Bear Gallery, 8A Great Eastern St, EC2A 3NT. Tickets are £20 and include a free beer.
Enjoy an evening of whisky and delicious food inside this private members’ club. Award-winning distillery Buffalo Trace will provide a selection of their finest tipples to be enjoyed alongside a three-course meal. Blossom honey and soya glazed chicken wings and BBQ baby back ribs will be served to start, followed by short beef rib with gravy, corn on the cob, spiced coleslaw and baked potato with sour cream and chives. Apple tarte tatin will complete this American-inspired feast. The dinner will take place at 7pm, 7 October at The Library, 112 St Martin’s Lane, WC2N 4AZ. Tickets are £55 or £100 for two.
