From skeletons and sinews to gizzards and guts, the Yuk! Show at WWT London Wetland Centre is a great way to entertain kids this Halloween half-term. This year’s theme is Bizarre Bodies, you’ll be able to explore the extraordinary bodily adaptations that help animals – including the the devilish dragonfly nymph – survive in the world of wetlands. Science Museum, South Kensington
Half term wouldn’t be half term without a trip to the Science Museum. This week there’s an apt show to boot. Little Lab of Horrors opens on Tuesday 28 October in The Theatre and is suitable for children aged eight and over. Intrepid investigators will have the chance to explore the Science Museum’s spookiest objects, such as photographs of ghostly beings and can take part in activities that will make their hair stand on end. 3 Stage Fright workshop

Give your kids a gory makeover this Halloween by signing them up to join Polka Theatre’s professional make-up artists for a Stage Fright workshop. Suitable for children aged 8-14, parents will leave their little (or teenage) ones at Polka, where they’ll learn how to create scary scars using stage makeup.
