Antenatal Teacher, Amber In der Rieden and Breastfeeding Counsellor, Rachel Bryant launched last year. Both are highly trained, and support hundreds of families each year through antenatal classes, breastfeeding support, baby massage and introduction to solids workshops

Chiswick Antenatal Classes provide small group or private courses from their family homes and, as Amber comments, ‘We deliver classes that combine down to earth guidance with a mix of theory, discussions, exercises and practical baby care activities. We love to tailor make each class to the unique needs of the group.’

Birth partners are encouraged to attend throughout the course and studies show that the more supportive and informed partners are, the more successful breastfeeding is likely to be. Home visits to support breastfeeding are possible whether mothers have attended a course or not.

With five children between them and an understanding of the needs of parents expecting babies in a city away from close family members, Rachel and Amber are proud to offer a unique open door policy. Clients are welcome to get in touch at any time before or after the birth to share successes or concerns.

Rachel says that appreciation of this approach is reflected within the testimonials on their website: ‘We both feel extremely lucky to have met so many parents and laugh about how it’s now impossible to walk along Chiswick High Road without bumping into families!’
Current fees are £200 per couple for 18 hours including a 2-hour postnatal reunion.

Chiswick Antenatal is hosting courses in September 2014 for babies due in October, classes cost £200 for seven.  Book at
