Smith & Partner specialises in selling limited-edition art prints, making them a great port of call for first-time art buyers. But while browsing and buying art online has been a saviour for many collectors during the coronavirus lockdown, nothing beats the experience of being able to view art in person.
Now, first-time buyers and keen collectors can have the best of both worlds, with the launch of the new Smith & Partner art gallery – S&P Gallery – in South Kensington. Due to open on 15 September, the new venue will feature limited-edition, contemporary and modern artworks by emerging artists and Old Masters from around the globe.
While the Smith & Partner online store will continue to operate, the new South Kensington gallery will mean that art enthusiasts will be able to browse and buy exclusive artworks, as curated by the S&P team, in person for the first time.

Contemporary British artist Deborah Azzopardi will make a special guest appearance at the gallery launch on 15 September – as will Miss Aniela, whose work is pictured above – and guests who spend over £2,000 during the event will receive a free Azzopardi print, signed by the artist herself.
Plus, attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with an expert broker for a bespoke art investment consultation.
‘We are really looking forward to welcoming guests to our gallery launch,’ said Luke Sparkes, CEO of Smith & Partner.
‘The event will represent a landmark moment for us as a business. I understand that in these uncertain times people have turned to our online store to view our exclusive artwork collections.
What is art investment, and where do I begin?
There’s more to art than home decor. In recent years, art has become one of the most significant investment trends of our time. Download Smith & Partner’s comprehensive 12-page guide to investing in art – including how the art market works and how S&P can help you get returns of up to 64.4% in 12 months – here.
‘Opening the doors to our physical gallery will now enable our customers to experience some of our classic, modern, contemporary and limited-edition pieces as they were meant to be enjoyed; in person,’ continues Sparkes.
‘We’d like to welcome guests from all backgrounds, as we believe we genuinely have artwork to match every individual’s tastes.
‘Whether it’s a piece from Eva Claire Burton or one of our emerging artists, we’re confident our guests will find artwork that aligns with their home decor, as a gift for a friend or relative or for any other occasion.’
Whether you’re looking to buy art for your home or as an investment – and yes, prints can make for a valuable investment piece – S&P’s art experts evaluate, authenticate and curate their artworks, meaning that you can buy with confidence.
S&P Gallery will open at 58 Gloucester Road, South Kensington SW7 4QT on 15 September 2020. To secure your place at the launch evening, join the guest list via the Smith & Partner website
