MADE LONDON – Bloomsbury, a new selling fair for contemporary craft and design, is the perfect predecessor to London Craft Week
Running from 29 April until 1 May 2016, the event is the springtime companion to MADE LONDON – Marylebone, one of the top events for designer-makers in Europe, which takes place in autumn.
MADE LONDON – Bloomsbury is a stripped-back, pared-down selling exhibition that showcases designer-makers’ work in the beautiful setting of Mary Ward House, a Grade I-listed arts and craft ‘settlement’ (where rich Edwardians went to live with London’s poor to provide legal advice, education classes, and opportunities for arts and physical fitness).
The show will take place in a number of stunning rooms including the old gymnasium, theatre, drawing room, library, dining rooms and classrooms. There will also be a café, serving drinks and light meals, situated in the walled garden.
West Dean College will be hosting a Creative Hub where visitors can enjoy free talks and demonstrations in arts and crafts from a host of West Dean College tutors. With short courses available in drawing, printing and making, the Creative Hub provides details of art and craft subjects available at West Dean with some special show offers too.
