COCOBANANAS LAUNCH IN BATTERSEA

The team behind Battersea bar Bunga Bunga Inception Group open a new bar on Howie Street in Battersea

Battersea’s party scene has a new kid on the block. From the brains behind Bunga Bunga comes Cocobananas, a Brazilian bar-shack-themed club that’s opened in time for the World Cup in Brazil this summer.

Party goers joined Cocobananas owners Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling for a launch party that celebrated Brazil. Guests were greeted by staff in beach wear – guys in surfboard shorts and girls in sarongs – who served themed drinks.

Cocobananas’ signature cocktail is called the ‘Bum Bum’ and is served in a name appropriate and very cheeky glass.

Guests at the Cocobananas beach party also enjoyed Brazilian street food bites, including authentic kibe, empadinh, and grilled king prawns. Entertainment was provided in the form of music by resident DJ Ollie Twist, and a choreographed dance routine was performed by the Cocobananas team behind the bar.

Cocobananas is the sixth Inception Group opening. Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling’s other venues include Barts on Sloane Avenue, Maggie’s on Fulham Road, Bunga Bunga on Battersea Bridge Road, Mr Fogg’s of Mayfair and Disco in Soho.
