SPANISH FIESTA: CAMPO VIEJO’S FLOATING WINE BAR ON CLAPHAM COMMON

Claphamites are in for a treat this weekend as Campo Viejo’s ‘lake of colour’ floats into town until 12th June…

Words: Madeleine Howell

Don your shades (disclaimer – do also pack your umbrella), embrace that #FridayFeeling and prepare to enjoy a glass of Rioja or two in a rather unusual setting on Clapham Common’s Mount Pond. Amidst bright lights and wooden terraces, you can expect to enjoy wine blending master classes, tasty tapas and live music galore courtesy of Campo Viejo.

One of SW’s favourite Spanish-inspired bands, The Fontanas, are headlining with their Brazilian funk, fiesta-inducing sounds. Don’t worry if you’re not around this weekend – they are also set to play at Fulham Palace’s Jazz on the Lawn in collaboration with the 606 Club on 29th July. You’ll also often find them playing their feel good tunes at the infamous Hootananny in Brixton. For now though, we hear there’s a glass of chilled Viura-Tempranilla Blanco with your name on it…
Sat/Sun 12pm -11pm. Entrance is free. Tickets to a ‘Blend Your Own Wine Masterclass’ are £15 + booking fee. campoviejo.com
