Adventure Cinema, The Luna Cinema Drive-In, Rooftop Film Club and more have all announced their 2021 return, with tickets going on sale imminently.
The first to open will be the drive-ins, with Drive In Cinema the first London-based gig to announce its opening date, returning to Alexandra Palace on 13 April 2021 with a new gig on a fifth floor rooftop at Brent Cross from 12 April. Its sister operation, Rooftop Film Club, which has sites at the Bussey Building in Peckham and Roof East in Stratford, will open on 18 & 21 May respectively.
The Luna Cinema Drive-In, which tours locations across the UK, including London, will also reopen on 12 April, while Adventure Cinema, another national venture, kicks off on 17 May, calling at Streatham Common from 11-13 June, Osterley Park and House, Isleworth, from 2-4 July and Wandle Park, Croydon from 19-20 August.
In other news, Tom Kerridge’s Drive & Dine Theatre experience will return this summer as The Alfresco Theatre Drive-In, with tickets on sale from 4 March.
The event, which sees Alfresco Theatre meet the ultimate travelling restaurant, The Alfresco Diner, will tour the UK before landing at Syon Park for its finale from 9-13 June.
Superstar chefs onboard include Tom Kerridge himself, Rick Stein, Atul Kochhar, Paul Ainsworth and Jason Atherton, all joining forces to create a menu of one-off dishes to enjoy while watching a live show, comedy gig or big-screen movie outdoors.
As well as great pubs and restaurants – including Kerridge’s two Michelin-starred The Hand & Flowers, Atul Kochhar’s amazing Vaasu and Sindhu, and Peckham favourite The Begging Bowl – there will also be live music from the likes of Basement Jaxx, Gabrielle, Beverley Knight, Brand New Heavies, Soul 2 Soul*, Morcheeba and Stereo MCs. The event will also land in Chiswick from 3-5 September.
The unsurpassable Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has also announced its 2021 season, with Romeo & Juliet running 26 June-24 July, Carousel from 30 July-18 September and family show Dragons & Mythical Beasts offering up daytime performances during the summer holidays, from 10 August-5 September. Tickets are on sale now.
West End Musical Drive-In, the socially distanced musical theatre concert based at The Drive In, Troubadour Meridian Water, has just announced that performances return from 17 April, taking place every Saturday until 29 May, and tickets, priced £65 per car, are on sale now. In the meantime, you can stream the best of its 2020 season online.
