Lonely Planet has revealed the hottest travel trends for the year ahead
The travel experts at Lonely Planet have unveiled their Best in Travel lists for 2016. These includes the top 10 countries, regions and cities to experience around the world, as well as the best value destinations for 2016, the best animal adventures for families, the best places to seek silence and the best places to elope!
As for the number one country? Botswana has been named next year’s hot spot, followed by Japan and the USA. Kotor in Montenegro is at the top of the cities list and the must-see region is Transylvania in Romania.
You don’t have to travel far to reach all of these destinations, though. Staycations are also on the agenda, as Dublin and Manchester both feature in the cities ranking.
