The Resident picks out five of the best bouquets for Valentine’s Day from south west London florists…

1 Roses Only
Say it with flowers… You’ll certainly be in the good books with beautiful long-stemmed roses from Roses Only. Have them delivered to your home at a time to suit you (best to coincide with breakfast in bed). If you’re really feeling the love, opt for a gift box with numerous blooms along with a bottle of Moet & Chandon or Dom Perignon Vintage. We also love their salted caramel chocolates and pink lilies.

2 Clapham Flowers
If you’ve ever taken the Tube at Clapham South station, chances are you’ll have clocked Clapham Flowers. Known for originality and with quite a history (the building has housed a florist for over 100 years), this convenient gem for the last minute lover sources the highest quality of flowers from Holland. We absolutely adore their arrangements, from small hand ties to tall oasis sprays.

They deliver their beautifully picked flowers to Battersea, Wandsworth, Clapham, Pimlico, Fulham, Kennington, Stockwell, Balham and beyond, as well as offering a window box planting service and collaborations with local artists and makers.

5 Jayne Copperwaite Flower Designs
Prestigious florist Jayne Copperwaite created the flower arrangements for Love Actually and Calendar Girls, as well as Downton Abbey. Her designs can be found on yachts, in stately homes and at The Hurlingham Club – but you needn’t go far to buy some for yourself, as she’s rather handily based in Balham. We’d even go as far as to venture that brownie points are guaranteed with the purchase of one of her bespoke bunches.
