The Ritz, one of London’s most famous hotels, remained open throughout the two World Wars, but was forced to close for the first time in its 114-year history due to the coronavirus pandemic. The landmark started reopening its restaurants in July, before the guestrooms and suites reopened on 1 September. Afternoon Tea at The Palm Court has been available since 18 July, while The Michelin-starred Ritz Restaurant & Terrace, as well as The Secret Garden, reopened on 27 July 2020.

DUKES LONDON reopened on 3 September with a complimentary night offer. The Edwardian country house in St James’s is minutes’ from Buckingham Palace, The Royal Academy, Fortnum & Mason and Green Park. DUKES also enjoys preferential access to exhibitions at the Royal Academy – just a five minute walk from the hotel – including The Summer Exhibition and the current hero show, Gauguin & The Impressionists (until 18 October). DUKES is offering a reduced restaurant service, with GBR (Great British Restaurant) remaining closed. The Savoy reopened on 24 September, although overnight stays won’t be available until 1 October. The Savoy Grill reopened on 21 September for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and The Thames Foyer is now open for afternoon tea from Wednesday through Sunday, while the Beaufort Bar, celebrated for its innovative drinks, is open from Thursday through Saturday evenings. The pool and gym facilities will reopen on 1 October, when overnight stays will also be available.
