Kensington Church Street’s Lev Antiques is a long-established family business now being run by the fifth generation who originate from Latvia and set up the antique shop in 1882. It’s one of the few shops in London that retains its old world charm

Previously known as Silver Street, Kensington Church Street has built up a reputation over the years for its many antique shops and become a magnet for dealers and foreign visitors from all over the world and of course, a regular attraction to local residents.

Lev Antiques, housed on the street, is one of the few shops left in London that has retained its character throughout the years. The shop has built up a reputation for secondhand, antique jewellery and silver, and has a good range of jewellery to suit all pockets: engagement rings; dress rings; casual rings; necklaces; pendants; brooches and more. But the charming antiques shop is not just limited to traditional jewellery and silver, the business has also branched out in recent years and offers paintings, antiquities and other decorative objects for collectors and decorators.

Restoration services, particularly for oil paintings, are carried out by Alyson Lawrence, who is highly skilled and and has many years of experience. She is a member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen, which carries the cachet of good workmanship, and specialises in all aspects of restoration, including cleaning and repairing tears and holes. Alyson can retouch in any style, from the 17th century right up to the modern day, from portraits to landscapes and abstract art.
