Tara Nash, founder of Chic & Seek boutique in Notting Hill tells us why she’s joined forces with Grace Belgravia Foundation to call on women to ‘Liberate their Wardrobes’ and donate their old or unworn designer fashion items to the women’s charity, Silent No More, which supports research and awareness for gynaecological cancer

What is Silent No More?

The Resident: Tara Nash, owner of Chic & SeekTara Nash, owner of Chic & Seek

Silent No More is a gynaecological cancer fund which wants to kick start a major change in the approach to treating gynaecological cancers and to raise awareness of their symptoms.

What motivated you to get involved with the project?

Chic & Seek is always motivated to support charity events, it is very much part of our brand. When I was told about the Silent No More event I didn’t hesitate to get involved. Gynaecological Cancer Fund is a fantastic charity to support, and it’s through events like this that we can increase awareness and raise money for vital research.

How can others help to support them?

By liberating their wardrobes! You may have fallen out of love with a particular item so donate it to Silent No More as there will definitely be someone out there who can love it again. The charity bins can be found at Grace Belgravia SW1, Waitrose Belgavia SW1, Elias Drycleaners SW1 & SW3, Chic & Seek W11, Baar & Bass Boutique, SW3. Or pop down to the sale itself and have a good browse through some of the stunning pieces that have been kindly given. Chic & Seek customers have been extremely generous with their donations and I’d like to thank them for that.

What kind of fashion items will be on offer at the Nearly New Designer Charity Clothes Sale?

There is the most heavenly cream coat (as new) from Gucci or a wonderful bronze leather jacket from Ralph Lauren. Or (and how I wish they were my size!) the most gorgeous, scarcely worn boots from Hermes and Burberry. We have hundreds of pieces including items from Celine, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, DKYN, and boots and shoes from Hermes, Gina, Jimmy Choo to name just a few. Prices range from just £15 to about £500..

What will you be liberating from your wardrobe for the event?

I have donated about eight pairs of shoes. Having recently packed up my life to move to LA, I realise I have a total shoe addiction and I needed to release some of them. There were a few pairs of Miu Miu, Sergio Rossi’s and Marc Jacobs.

What else do we need to know?

Grace Belgravia is a fabulous members club for women. The interior is very luxurious and sophisticated. Make a day of the event and spend some time relaxing and catching with friends. Whatever you do, don’t miss out on this fabulous event on 9th October between 8.30am and 8pm. There will be a £10 donation on the door and all proceedings go directly to the charity.
