Fiesta forever with Lowie’s sustainably produced, hand-finished spring-summer 2016 fashion collection, Mexicana…
Mexicana tumbled from vintage clothing stalls at Spitalfields market, lock-ups in Stratford and a vintage warehouse in West Norwood – how could Bronwyn Lowenthal, Design Director of south London-based Lowie, ignore such colourful, playful, glorious style?
And so Mexicana is the name of Lowie’s latest SS16 collection with cacti everywhere, bright colour pops, playful scenic prints and heritage-styling. Mexican wool souvenir jackets with appliqued scenes from the 1950s inspired a sweatshirt, an amazing cactus-and-palm-printed scarf was the basis for the colourful Yucatan print, and a 30s painter’s frock inspired amazing styling details.
True to Lowie’s sustainable ethos, organic cotton, knits, stitching and crochet detailing are all prevalent, much of it lovingly hand-finished in their Brixton studio.
All available at the Lowie boutique at 115 Dulwich Road, Herne Hille SE24 0NG and online at ilovelowie.com
