Personal trainer and body confidence influencer Chessie King, who recently became a pet parent to cockapoo Hugo, has combined her love of fitness and four-legged friends to create a PAWsonal Training workout.

Created in collaboration with dog sitting and walking platform, the one-off workout event allows pups and their humans to improve their strength, balance and cardio performance together.

‘Having recently become a dog owner myself, I’m already so aware of the challenges that come with looking after a pup,’ says Chessie, PAWsonal Training Expert for

‘Whilst Hugo is a bundle of fun, ensuring he stays happy and healthy takes a huge amount of time and energy. I find we bond best when we’re playing and having fun, which is exactly what I try and make my workouts… playful and fun!’

The workout launches following research that reveals 73% of dog owners think pups make great workout companions, and 79% think exercising together improves their mood. A further 60% say it doesn’t feel like a workout when they exercise with their dog, and 79% say working out together strengthens their bond.

In fact, having a dog has been proven to keep you fit. The research also reveals that dog owners exercise twice as much as those without a pooch – four and a half hours a week in the winter, compared to just two hours.

The PAWsonal Training Plan, which launches just in time for National Walking the Dog Day, contains new, fun ways to vary your own exercise routine – perfect for keeping those motivation levels up once the ‘New Year, New You’ enthusiasm starts to falter and the cold weather really starts to bite.

‘It’s important to vary your exercise routine so you don’t both become bored,’ continues Chessie, ‘and this workout will give dog owners some inspiration for how they can mix things up.’

From agility training, to strength exercises and even a bit of ‘doga’ (yoga with dogs), this unique series will be the ‘ultimutt’ full body workout.

The event is free but places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis – register your interest here. Guests will also get a goody bag with treats from Pooch & Mutt, Butternut Box and
