Ruinart – the world’s first established Champagne House – will launch a unique one-bedroom hotel in Primrose Hill this summer with exclusive champagne tasting and culinary experiences

Hotel 1729, named for the year Maison Ruinart was established, will bring the world of Ruinart to life, offering guests an indulgent, immersive experience like no other.

The hotel has been designed in collaboration with Tom Hingston of Hingston Studio, who has worked with some of the world’s most innovative musicians and film makers, including Grace Jones, David Bowie, Nick Cave, The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga and Massive Attack.

Maison Ruinart to launch exclusive Hotel 1729 in London

Ruinart commissioned Hingston to translate the essence of Maison Ruinart into an exclusive over-night experience inspired by the world famous champagne house.

‘Over the years, we have touched upon so many individual aspects of this brief – set design, interiors, art direction, sound and lighting design,’ says Hingston.

‘Hotel 1729 represents a great opportunity to bring all this experience together and realise it in one fantastic space.

‘To be able to do that for a brand such as Ruinart, where magic and innovation sit at the heart of everything, is really exciting,’

At Hotel 1729 you’ll be personally hosted by Ruinart Maître d’Hospitalité, Olivier Livoir, and experimental Danish chef Bo Lindegaard.

Olivier, who will be taking a rare secondment from Maison Ruinart in Reims, will guide you through tastings of Ruinart, while Bo, a key figure in the Copenhagen gastronomic scene, will pair each tasting with imaginative culinary moments.

‘Ruinart has connected with artists since 1896 and the experience at Hotel 1729 promises to embody Ruinart’s vision that “vivre est un art”*,’ says Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Ruinart.

Hotel 1729 is open from 30 June-10 July for one-night only stays priced £850 for two (including two a Ruinart Champagne and dining experience and breakfast). You can also invite up to four guests to join you for the evening for £1,250.
