At the family run Les Pres d’Eugenie hotel and spa in Eugénie-les-Bains, south west France, a tailored wellbeing programme meets 3-Michelin star fine dining
Words: Vicky Mayer
There are not many places in the world where you can combine a tailor-made wellbeing programme with some fine gourmet dining, but five star Les Pres d’Eugenie is no ordinary destination.
Situated in picturesque South West France, this family-owned and operated hotel, spa and gourmet haven is run by renowned French chef Michel Guerard, together with his wife and their daughters. The roomy estate, situated on an unspolit part of the Atlantic, offers 35 rooms plus 20 suites and apartments. There are also three restaurants on the site, including their Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant, a thermal spa and a 50-acre vineyard.
Guests are encouraged to try out the professional spa facilities, which are administered by a team of hydro therapists, beauticians and physiotherapists, then treat themselves at the restaurants with a menu of fine food and fine wines on the week-long Hedonistic package. This seven day extravaganza includes a series of Pure Spa treatments, gourmet dining, wine tasting and cooking lessons in the tradition of the Estate’s owner Michel Guerard.
As you’d expect from a French spa, the treatments are not only divine, but seriously effective too while food fans will be wishing they lived in France after tasting Guerard’s world famous classic Gallic dishes.
Just an hour and a half from Bordeaux, Les Pres d’Eugenie is the perfect destination for a long weekend or a very indulgent week of experiencing the very best of France.
Les Pres D’Eugenie is a member of the Relais & Chateaux group. The seven day Hedonistic package starts at rates of 2,865 euros per person, inclusive of full board. For this and other individual stays see michelguerard.com
