Timothy Oulton’s Chelsea showroom is quite the sight to behold. Within its spacious four walls adjoining Chelsea’s famous Bluebird restaurant, you’ll find a spaceship and a yellow submarine submerged within a huge fish tank. A hot spot for a party? You bet!
And so, on 2 May 2019, more than 100 guests from Chelsea and further afield enjoyed An Evening of Style, a celebration of the modern woman with top fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands, flowing champagne and an incredibly impressive spread of cheese and biscuits.
Partner brands included Charlotte Tilbury, Penhaligons, Sophia Webster, Belvedere Vodka, Style by Manisha, Tancream, Taschen and Chelsea hair salon HK London, premium womenswear label L Saha and Sloane Square-based jewellery designer Kiki McDonough.
Visitors were greeted with vintage Babycham glasses filled with champagne, courtesy of bowler-hatted waiters, while top ups and fine wines were to be found on the stitched-leather Marshal Bar, set against a wall of cricket bats sourced by Timothy Oulton’s global army of ‘foragers’.
Pure vodka tasting was also an option, thanks to Belvedere Vodka, which was showcasing its flavoured vodkas, such as Citron and Pink Grapefruit (we can highly recommended the latter over ice).
‘The Charlotte Tilbury team were busy making over guests to add a little luminosity to proceedings, while hair stylists Hakan Kose crafted luscious locks’
Elsewhere, the Charlotte Tilbury team were busy making over guests to add a little luminosity to proceedings, while hair stylists Hakan Kose crafted luscious locks and intoxicating aromas wafted from British perfume house Penhaligon’s.
Sophia Webster’s signature Chiara shoes – embroidered with butterfly wings on the back – drew admiring gazes, as did the sparkle on show from jewellery designer Kiki McDonough, whose designs feature in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Last but by no means least, the duo behind Tancream, Gillian and Katy, shared their story of founding the world’s first premium SPF50 self-tan after Gillian was diagnosed with skin cancer four years ago.
And of course, an evening spent in the beautifully appointed showroom cannot help but inspire on the interior design front, and so Timothy Oulton ambassadors were on hand to create 3D virtual room plans to help guests visualise their favourite pieces from the eclectic, approachable collection in their own home.
An Evening of Style followed Timothy Oulton’s successful Gentlemen’s Evenings in 2018. Future events at the showroom include a Food Festival in association with Abergavenny Food Festival on 6 June, where guests will be able to sample goodies from top British suppliers such as Trealy Farm Charcutier, Cult Vinegar and Borough Cheese.
