#ThanksToTravel: The New Instagram Campaign Launched in Support of the Travel Industry

While the world is on lockdown, trying to keep coronavirus down and our chins up, we have plenty of time to reflect on the things we love about life. For many of us, one of life’s biggest joys is travel, so when we heard about the Brighter Group and Komodo’s #ThanksToTravel campaign, we got involved…

The Brighter Group is a travel and tourism PR and marketing consultancy, while Komodo is a global social agency specialising in travel, content creation and influencer marketing.

But while globe trotting is currently on ice, the travel experts are encouraging us to reach into the archives and meditate on those moments that have meant the world to us, in support of the locked down travel industry.

To join in the #ThanksToTravel campaign, which launched on 15 April 2020, pick a photo (or several) that shows one of your most inspiring travel memories, tells us why it means so much to you, using the #ThanksToTravel hashtag, and then nominate three friends to do the same by tagging them in the post.

The Brighter Group and Komodo will then share some of its favourites, and here are some of ours…

#thankstotravel My Thanks to Travel moment was 100% our Wedding Day / trip in the South of France, getting to share our magical day, in our magical venue, with everyone we love, who travelled from around the world to share it with us, was beyond mind blowing, it blew our minds back then, and it still does to this day. I’m already so grateful for travel, but i will definitely never take it for granted ever again. A couple of years ago I travelled Vietnam and volunteered at this orphanage near Nha Trang. All the babies had been left or abandoned in random places like near a train track or bottom of a statue. A lot of them were disabled so it was clear this had been the reason they had been left by parents too These suitcases you can see us walking around are literally their favourite toy, someone had donated books in these suitcases but instead they play with the suitcases walking them around the building Thanks @wearekomodo for creating the #thankstotravel hashtag to celebrate moments like this. I love travelling and partying around the world however it’s the moments like this what humbles me. We are so lucky to have everything we have even if we can’t go outside to enjoy anything right now, we are already luckier than some as we have a roof over our heads, family, friends, and good health. ❤️❤️❤️ please remember to always be grateful and cherish your loved ones
