Those with a champagne social life trying to keep an eye on their waistline can rejoice – Skinny Prosecco continues to make its mark in the media. The low-calorie, high flavour fizz has been praised by Holly and Phillip on ITV’s This Morning and name-checked by GQ for trending on Twitter, but did you know it’s also vegan? That’s #Veganuary sorted, then…
Thomson & Scott Skinny Prosecco has become a huge hit in the UK following its initial launch at Selfridges earlier this year. With only 67 calories per glass and 7 grams of sugar per litre (around 50% less than traditional varieties) Skinny Prosecco is set to social drinking a little easier on the waistline.
Thomson & Scott launched its first ‘Skinny’ product, a low dosage Grand Cru Champagne, in collaboration with celebrated producer Alexandré Penet in 2015. Skinny Prosecco holds the same core principles as Skinny champagne, proving again if quality wines are used, the same great flavour can still be achieved without the need to add lots of sugar.

Thomson & Scott founder Amanda Thomson was raised on a vegetarian and no-sugar diet by a health conscious mother who thought sugar was the devil – and it turns out, she was right! The principle is simple: if you grow beautiful, pure fruit in the vineyards and work carefully and respectfully in the winery, there is no need to add lots of sugar to your finished wine. It is energy-reduced, meaning the energy value is reduced by at least 30% when compared to many other Prosecco.
I was amazed at the amount of sugar in wine
‘I’ve brought a brand to market that offers a top quality portfolio of Champagne, Prosecco and sparkling wine with up to 7g of sugar per litre. Our Prosecco is also certified organic and vegan. We’re setting the drinks world alight with our transparent approach to drinking.’
Thomson & Scott’s range is available by the case via thomsonandscott.com, or by the bottle from Selfridges stores and online. It’s also on sale through 31 Dover, Fenwick, Harvey Nichols, and Amazon. Thomson & Scott Skinny Champagne and Thomson & Scott Skinny Prosecco can also be found at Forest on the Roof at Selfridge’s, Dalloway Terrace, The Mondrian Hotel and Veeno as well as many other top UK hotels and restaurants.
