London’s first ‘wellbeing playground’ – a pioneering outdoor urban spa – has launched in Belgravia, courtesy of multi-sensory visionaries Bompas & Parr
Paradise Now, a free urban outdoor spa that promises to supercharge visitors in 30 minutes, opened on 7 September at Eccleston Yards, a new hub for independent retail and co-working on the boundaries of Belgravia and Victoria.
Running until 15 September 2018, the pioneering experience will offer guests an engaging journey inspired by the very latest wellness trends. Developed by multi-sensory visionaries Bompas & Parr, Paradise Now offers wellness concepts such as biohacking, Nootropics, Rehydration technology, urban nature bathing and touchscreen chromo-therapy.
The installation showcases a number of the latest scientifically-proven wellness trends, which should leave you feeling like you’ve just returned from a week-long holiday in a mere 30 minutes.
Bathe in a monumental pink mist waterfall, enriched with energising minerals, or meditate in the Haptic dunes, created from vitamin and nutrient-enriched aromatherapy-scented pink pebbles (a colour scientifically proven to relax and reduce anxiety), or head for the perpetual sunset, a large-scale infrared light installation designed to boost endorphins and metabolism, relieve depression and stimulate vitamin D production.
A timetable of workshops by locally based wellness brands, including weekday meditation classes with Re:Mind, Q&As from Barry’s Bootcamp trainers and Grace’s Belgravia’s gym team, will help you get into the flow of things.
This project is the culmination of a year of research into how an architectural space can give you the blissed out feeling of a full holiday in under an hour
There is also an Electrolyte Aqua bar with collection columns infused with water properties from the seven continents. Here, various geological layers will collect and transform London’s rainwater into nutrient-rich filtered water, and you can enjoy water infusions and water-based cocktails served by Water Sommeliers at tasting events.
‘This project is the culmination of a year of research into how an architectural space can give you the blissed out feeling of a full holiday in under an hour,’ said Sam and Harry of Bompas & Parr. ‘Come revel in the eternal sunset with us.’
Eccleston Yards, set on 80,000 sq ft of renovated space just five minutes’ walk from Victoria Station, is championing wellbeing with live, work and play environments and brands that energise visitors, workers and residents. It’s already home to brands including Barry’s, Re:Mind, SMUK, Tailor Made, 50M and Jones Family Kitchen.
Paradise Now runs from 7-15 September 2018, 11-am-8pm, at Eccleston Yards, 21 Eccleston Place, Belgravia SW1W 9NF. Entry is free. See ecclestonyards.com
